Custom Timber Frame Homes

There are a number of ways to find the custom timber frame home of your dreams. You may have already settled on one that you saw in a magazine... in a picture at a home show... at a home you visited during a local home tour... from a plan book... from a designer or architect... from... from...from... All this adds up to "confusing". Heavy Timber Truss and Frame has tried to simplify this by offering three approaches to developing the perfect timber frame home for you.
We have a model home at Fern Mountain in southwestern Pennsylvania that is a full frame timber home. It features western fir trusses, open timber stair system with timber rails and newels, a timbered entry and covered porch that welcomes you in or to sit out on in an easy rocker to enjoy the surrounding nature. Visiting can answer confirm the first basic question of how much or how little timber framing is right for you.
It will also dramatically demonstrate what we call the best fit and finish available. As you run your hand over any of the exposed timbers it will bring a smile to your face. Walking up the stairs while holding the timber baluster has been described as "the wonderful feel of an older gentleman's well worn walking stick." The finish is the same throughout. At Heavy Timber Truss and Frame we pre finish each piece with the stain or oil finish color of your choice. The care we take is evident everywhere. The tight fit of the mortise and tenon connections and wooden peg joinery, even after three years is as tight a tolerance as the day it was installed.
During a visit to the Fern Valley model many questions you may have will be answered and a design path developed that eliminate the confusion and develop the method to achieve your dreams on the timeline you want.
